Riding Levels

Our tours are primarily designed for Levels 3 and 4, given the terrain and amount of climbing we incorporate in our itineraries. We can accommodate Levels 1 and 2 by offering “boosts” in the support vehicle and shorter route variations accompanied by a guide. We recommend that Levels 1 and 2 follow a 12 week+ training plan and rent an e-bike through one of our trusted rental partners in Costa Blanca. This allows these riders get the most out of their tour and spend as much time as possible on the road with other riders!

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y diagonales.

    Level 1 - Weekend Warrior

Someone who maintains fitness in ways other than the bike, but head out on weekends for a 3+ hour Saturday ride. However it would be difficult, but doable, to repeat such a ride again on Sunday.

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y semicirculares.

Level 2 - The Consistent Recreationalist

Someone who rides consistently 3-4 days a week (averaging 2 hours per ride or 6-8 hour weekly totals) at low to medium intensity. It would be a challenge to crank out repeated threshold efforts.

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y circulares.

    Level 3 - Avid Cyclist

You maintain a consistent base throughout the year of 10+ hours per week in the saddle, training and for long days in the saddle and/or events, whether a gran fondo or a multi-day stage race.

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y diagonales.

    Level 4 - Dialed Competitor

This person follows a dialed training plan hovering around 15+ hours in the saddle per week. On group rides they’re in the front, can launch attacks, and consistently finishes at the top of their category in races and events. They have experience calibrating themselves to handle 5 long days in a row.

Sample Itinerary

A low-pressure spin through the Jalón Valley. You’ll love the velvet-smooth roads between the grapevines and the chance to find your climbing rhythm on the gentle, rolling hills before the big mountains begin.

The Vineyards Shakeout Spin | 45 km / 600m

Day 1

The Iconic Coll de Rates | 105 km / 1,900m

Day 2

A mid-mountain epic featuring the region’s most famous ascent. The climb from Parcent offers a steady 5% grade with perfectly engineered hairpins. The extension through Tàrbena adds high-altitude plateau riding and a technical descent into the interior valleys.

The Giant: Vall d'Ebo | 118 km / 2,200m

Day 3

A heavy climbing day targeting the northern sierras. The Vall d'Ebo ascent is known for its "pro-tour" asphalt and rhythmic switchbacks. The return leg through the Gallinera Valley provides a 20km slight-downhill "drag strip" with minimal vehicular traffic.

Day 6

The Musette Social | 38 km / 450m

Day 4

A flat traverse on back roads to the town of Parcent. The destination, Musette Cafe, serves as the local cycling hub for pros and amateurs alike. This ride allows for a mid-week leg flush without significant vertical gain.

The Roof: Sierra de Aitana | 135 km / 3,100m

Day 5

The Queen Stage. This route crosses the Guadalest Valley to reach the base of Aitana. The climb is long (approx. 15km) and sustained, representing the highest rideable point in the region.

Remote Castell de Castells | 108 km / 2,100m

The Mountain Finale. Replaces the coast with the rugged interior. This route tracks the technical ridge between Tàrbena and Castell de Castells, featuring "heavy" roads and limestone karst scenery.

Departures

We hope to send you off with your legs tired and soul content!
