Wine Pairings

Riding Levels

The Costa Blanca sample itinerary is designed for Level 3 and 4 cyclists, given the demand of the terrain and mileage. We can accommodate Levels 1 and 2 by offering “boosts” in the support vehicle and shorter route variations accompanied by a guide. We recommend that Levels 1 and 2 follow a 12 week+ training plan and consider renting an e-bike through one of our trusted rental partners in Costa Blanca. This allows these riders to get the most out of their tour and spend as much time as possible on the road with other riders!

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y diagonales.

    Level 1 - Weekend Warrior

Someone who maintains fitness in ways other than the bike. They can handle a 3+ hour Saturday ride. While doable, it would be difficult to repeat such a ride again on Sunday.

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y semicirculares.

Level 2 - The Consistent Recreationalist

Someone who rides consistently 3-4 days a week (averaging 2 hours per ride or 6-8 hour weekly totals) at low to medium intensity. It would be a challenge to crank out repeated threshold efforts.

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y circulares.

    Level 3 - Avid Cyclist

You maintain a consistent base of 10+ hours per week on the bike. Throughout the year, you incorporate training for longer days in the saddle and/or events, whether a gran fondo or a multi-day stage race.

  • Dibujo geométrico de un cuadrado delineado, con secciones divididas por líneas verticales, horizontales y diagonales.

    Level 4 - Dialed Competitor

This person follows a dialed training plan hovering around 14+ hours in the saddle per week. On group rides they’re in the front, can launch attacks, and consistently finishes at the top of their category in races and events. They have experience calibrating themselves to handle 5 long days on the bike in a row.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - The Vineyards Shakeout Spin | 27 km, 394 m

The Vineyards Shakeout Spin | 27 km, 394 mThis loop offers a relaxed ride through the Jalon Valley countryside, featuring gentle, rolling gradients through vineyard plains and ancient almond groves framed by dramatic limestone peaks. The route cuts directly through the narrow streets and sunny town squares of traditional Spanish villages.

Day 2 - Beni-Bernia Loop | 58 km, 908 m

This figure-eight route weaves through the valley to the town of Benigembla before climbing the steep, challenging slopes of the Bernia Mountains. After a fast descent down the opposite side of the mountain range, the landscape flattens out as you ride through quiet agricultural roads lined with grapevines and vineyard plains. The loop wraps up with a cruise into the traditional town of Llíber, where you can finish the ride with a relaxed coffee stop in the town square.

Day 3 - Coll and Canyons | 102 km, 1,917 m

After warming up, this loop begins with a winding ascent up the legendary hairpins of the Coll de Rates, one of the region’s most utilized climbs among the pros. From the summit, the road opens up into a sweeping inland valley, taking you across rugged canyons and terraced hillsides. The landscape then transitions into a fast, flat, and wide-shouldered road perfect for a high-speed group paceline through the open countryside to finish the day.

Day 4 - The Coastal Social | 44 km, 894 m

This route provides sweeping, panoramic views of the sea during the descent towards the shoreline of Moraira. There, you will gather at a beachside coffee shop to enjoy the coastal vibes and refuel before the Cumbre attempt. Riding away from the shoreline, the terrain transitions from sun-drenched beach fronts into rugged, limestone sea cliffs. For those up for the challenge, the dramatic ascent up La Cumbre del Sol rewards the effort with expansive, bird's-eye views over the entire region from its rocky summit.

Day 5 - Tollos | 97 km, 1,715 m

This route takes you deep into the rugged interior of the mountains, starting with a rolling warm-up through the towns of Orba and Sagra. The terrain shifts dramatically as you hit the base of the iconic Vall de Ebo from its notoriously hard side - a relentless, steep alpine climb surrounded by stark, sweeping limestone cliffs. After reaching the summit, the road follows a remote ridgeline that offers expansive, panoramic views across the deep canyons. The ride finishes with a long, flowing descent, dropping you right back down into the peaceful, vineyard-lined flats of the valley.

Day 6 - Camp-Ell | 85 km, 1,867 m

This route takes you into quieter backroads, winding through the hillside town of Campell and offering open views of the deep surrounding canyon with almost no car traffic. From there, you will tackle the Vall de Laguar climb; while the early miles are gentle, the final stretch near the top kicks up into tough, double-digit gradients. After descending into the interior valley, you will face the steady back side of the Coll de Rates, with an optional extension up the steep ramps of the Super Rates for those wanting an extra challenge.

Day 7 - Departures

We hope to send you off with your legs tired and soul content!
