Our Story

We owe our best memories to the bike. It’s a tool that has consistently outpaced our imagination, leading us to people, places, and cultures we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Rooted in gratitude, Rêverie Cycling Co. exists to stop chasing those experiences and start creating them.

Gabriel Shipley

Originally from Polson, Montana, Gabriel found himself traveling the country as a teenager pursuing a career racing at the elite level. By age 19, he was representing the U.S. National U23 Team and the professional development squad Aevolo-EF-Education First. Racing in the pro peloton took him across the U.S., Canada, and Europe—from the high Pyrenees to the Belgian cobbles to the coasts of Greece. These experiences did more than fuel his love for the bike; they fostered a deep appreciation for the cultures, places, and people he met along the way. Looking back, Gabriel is incredibly grateful for the tireless support crews who handled the stress of competition—managing logistics, maintaining bikes, and meticulously overseeing every detail of the team’s preparation. He knows firsthand the immense energy required to get a rider to the start line and oversee their care across days of racing. Gabriel brings that same "pro-tour" standard of care to every guest, ensuring the logistics are invisible so the experience remains the focus.

Gabriel’s search for the ultimate winter training ground eventually led him to Tucson, Arizona. What he discovered was more than just ideal weather; it was this thriving community that inspired him to plant roots. Transitioning from the pro peloton, he moved into the world of high-end mechanical service, mastering custom builds at a local Tucson shop. Whether tending to clients' bikes or connecting with them on the road, he genuinely enjoys playing a role in their deepening joy and appreciation for the bike. In efforts to bring together these elements of cycling--exploration, community, and care--he decided to launch Rêverie Cycling Co.

Sara Ritchie

Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Sara truly discovered cycling while living and working abroad in Guatemala. What began as a tool to make friends and practice Spanish led her to a domestic Guatemalan women’s team, competing across the country alongside a group of driven female athletes. Outside the racing, Sara partnered with local communities to bolster local tourism initiatives, co-designing immersive experiences in Guatemala’s most authentic and off-the-beaten path places. She brings this same passion to Réverie Cycling Co., helping guests uncover the genuine charm of the cultures and communities we visit. While living in Guatemala, Sara’s frequent trips to Tucson eventually drew her back to the States, where she settled in the desert city she had grown to love. Today, her deep ties to the local cycling community are a cornerstone of her life in Tucson.

Bill Karras

Originally from the eastern plains of South Dakota, Bill's career as a structural engineer led him to Phoenix, Arizona. He discovered cycling in 2009 almost by accident when a friend gifted him a bike they no longer used. What began as a simple commuting solution quickly transformed into a weekend passion as Bill sought out longer days in the saddle. In 2010, Bill entered his first major event: El Tour de Tucson. He was immediately captivated by the city’s widespread cycling infrastructure, variety of local routes, and bike aficionados. Drawn to this unique environment, he eventually made Tucson his home in 2019. Over the years, Bill’s love for the sport has taken him across the Atlantic to Costa Blanca, Spain. Visiting friends made through years of riding, he was introduced to the region’s unrivaled roads, iconic climbs, and hidden gems. These personal connections and shared miles in Spain became the inspiration for Rêverie Cycling Co.'s debut location.

Creating Rêverie

While Gabriel, Sara, and Bill were all drawn to Tucson, Arizona in distinct moments throughout the years, in this cycling mecca, they uncovered a vibrant cycling community, from recreational riders and local racers to World Tour pros training in the winter sun. Their paths eventually crossed. Along the journey, we began to daydream and scheme about how we could expand our community and combine our love for cycling, travel, and exploration. We simply couldn’t stop daydreaming about the possibility of crafting life-changing cycling vacations.

Put simply, Rêverie Cycling Co. was born out of making a daydream a reality. Inspired by the connections we’ve made on our journeys, we are grateful for the opportunity to continue cultivating community as part of Rêverie Cycling Co.
